KCUR Public Radio (Kansas City’s NPR affiliate) offers structured internships throughout the year.
The station’s internship program is designed to provide college and university students and graduates with an opportunity to learn about public broadcasting and news.
Preferred candidates are journalism / mass communications graduate or undergraduate students, or those who have already graduated from college. Exceptions to student status may be allowed based on relevant experience. Familiarity with public radio required.
Interns are expected to work between 15 – 20 hours a week during an 8 to 10 week internship period. Internships are offered during the summer, fall, and winter/spring semesters. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between KCUR and the intern’s college or university. All internships are unpaid.
For more information about KCUR’s internship program, including specific internship descriptions and a link to the application form, visit the internship page of the kcur.org website: http://www.kcur.org/interns.html
Please note that we’ve extended the deadline for fall semester internships. We’ll now accept applications through the end of August for work for this fall semester.
